I bought a towel at Target the other day, just because it was so goddamn cute ... And Ryan suggested that I try to make it into a wallpaper, since I was obsessing over it so much (pathetic, right?)... So I did.
All wallpapers are 1600 x 1200. There are 4 differant variations. The full previews are there, all except the textured... which I included a little snippet of to the right (in the preview). The snippet to the right of THAT snippet is a close up of the FRAMED Retro Stripes, just to show the texture of the framing.
It's simple, of course, but damn... I loves me some retro-ness! Hope someone else likes it, as well
Comments (*ahem*, and by comments I mean compliments ) and suggestions are always welcome
-Emily
~P.S.~ You'll need to full-size to see the details... The actual wallpapers look much better... promise!
EDIT:
I have added two more versions.... Plain with gloss, and textured with gloss. They're not in the preview, but they were requested. So now you gots extras

That file format is 7zip. It's just like a zip file, but with much better compression. There are several programs that can handle this format, one of which you can find here: [link]
I already have the default zip utility that comes with XP, WinZip, Object Zip, RAR, & the .sit for Windows thing, but I'll look....though to be honest...like I've said to lots of peeps, sure would be nice if, when sharing things like this, I didn't have to d/l a new program just to get a wall...(or icons...etc...) I'm not trying to be rude, but it's like everyone running XP has a zip utility already installed, right? So, why not make go ahead & use it? I try to make my things available to everyone & easy...so I go for the universal utility, even though I don't use it personally....but that's just me...& don't pay any attention....& Thanks for the link, I will have a look.
You definitely shouldn't need to download so many archivers. All you should need is a single program, that is built to handle multiple formats. WinRAR (I believe that's what you mean by "RAR") handles 7zip decompression. The program I linked to (7-Zip) is a free alternative that supports the following extensions: 7z, ZIP, CAB, RAR, ARJ, GZIP, BZIP2, Z, TAR, CPIO, RPM and DEB.
The reason for using 7zip compression is that it saves bandwidth. The file size is ultimately smaller than it would be, if simply compressed via WinZip or WinXP's zip method.
My advice would be to get rid of the mediocre bulk & go for one single great program.
You're very right, getting rid of the junk is the way to go....but there's reasons for each, ya know? I mean the XP zip is here, so it's convient. I use WinRAR because several of my fav icon makers use it. I've already bought Object Zip, because it came with something else I bought & I like several features. I need StuffIt when I'm converting Mac to XP, etc...but advice taken, & I'm seriously gonna give things a look. Thanks again.. Oh, and I guess I never think of bandwidth, because I have DSL, and there's not any difference in upload times, but there was a time when I was on dial up when it drove me nuts waiting while up or downloading.
